The British government is ready to advance with utilizing the full worth of immobilized Russian funds to aid the Ukrainian military campaign, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a joint statement, the officials of the UK, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany emphasized that this joint measure would escalate tension on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to come to the table.

They added that the initiative would be implemented in tight collaboration with the America.

UK restrictions have blocked over £25bn of Russia's resources since Russia launched its comprehensive attack against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. But, until now, money allocated to Ukraine using Russian holdings had solely been drawn from earnings and returns accrued on them.

Sir Keir told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their goal to push forward toward using the total worth of the frozen Russian sovereign assets to conclude the conflict.

He added that additional sanctions over the next period would heighten the tension on Russia.

This declaration comes after European leaders convened in Copenhagen recently to discuss utilizing immobilized Russian funds for a €140 billion financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

Recently, US President Donald Trump encouraged international partners to take or employ immobilized Russian assets, according to news outlets.

The total of immobilized Russian assets in the European Union is calculated to be almost €211bn.

The Russian government carried out widespread bombardments throughout the Ukrainian territory on Friday, resulting in power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, and several other zones.

Several persons were lost their lives and a minimum of 20 people were wounded in the attack, the Ukrainian government said.

In a update on X following the attack, Zelensky stated that the premeditated assault targeted civilian and energy infrastructure.

"What's needed is not empty words but decisive action - from the America, Europe, and the Group of Seven - in delivering defense mechanisms and enforcing penalties," he wrote.

"All penalty impositions undermines the Russian war effort," Zelensky noted, in a different message.

Also on Friday, Zelensky stated to reporters he would press Sir Keir to participate in the PURL program, under which alliance members buy arms from the America to provide to Ukraine.

While praising the Britain's consistent assistance for Kyiv, he said it should demonstrate clearly that it would participate in the initiative, as well as impose more sanctions on the Russian Federation.
