Fast bowler Gus Atkinson Exacerbates England's Injury Concerns.

'Major setback' for the English camp after Atkinson leaves the field due to a hamstring issue.

The English seamer further complicated the injury concerns plaguing England when he left the ground on the second morning of the fourth Ashes Test against Australia.

Atkinson felt a problem in his left hamstring after the final ball in his spell during the morning session.

The England team stated the 27-year-old felt some "soreness" and would spend time on the sidelines for further assessment "in the coming hours".

The final Test of the series at the SCG starts this coming Sunday.

The English side has already lost fast bowlers Mark Wood with a knee problem and Jofra Archer with an abdominal strain during this series.

Matthew Fisher was called up to provide backup.

Atkinson struggled in the opening two Tests, claiming a mere three wickets.

He was omitted of the third Test, before being recalled for the fourth Test as Archer's replacement.

Surrey's Atkinson showed better form in Melbourne, claiming a couple of wickets in Australia's first innings, and scoring 28 runs with the bat as one of just three teammates to reach double figures.

Following a brief spell in Australia's second innings, he returned the next day and removed Scott Boland taken by the wicketkeeper.

Yet, on the final ball of that over, he delivered a change of pace to the batsman and immediately felt at his leg.

Gus Atkinson was recalled for the fourth Ashes Test having missed the previous Test.
