Salah Issues Regret to Teammates, Says Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has revealed that Salah apologised to the group of players after the uproar from his televised remarks.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a key Champions League match subsequent to criticising the club and stating his connection to the head coach had soured.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”
The head coach has previously declined to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Looking Ahead
Jones insisted that the dressing room atmosphere remained positive. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” Jones added.
He also implied that a player's desire to start is a positive trait. “I understand there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
On-Field Response
Their results have stayed unbeaten in the period after the interview fallout. He feels the Salah's words were never meant to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, the source has been from a good place,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re gelling well as a team, getting results and securing victories.”
