Despite entering their maiden continental adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. Missing key figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a commanding win that all but guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
Another victory in their upcoming fixture against Finnish KuPS should be enough to secure direct entry to the knockout stages, particularly following a previous stumble against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Seize the Opportunity
This match offered a platform for several Palace's fringe talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, finding the net for the second consecutive succession.
The Shelbourne side that had concluded their domestic season were outmatched against a largely second-string Palace outfit. The Londoners were further weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg injuries.

Youngster Adam Wharton came close minutes later, fizzing a powerful effort over the bar. Nketiah then claimed for a penalty after bursting into the area, but the referee dismissed the appeals.

The home side were hanging on desperately. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to avoid a booking for a couple of robust challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the crossbar with a powerful header from a corner.

The match was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of comically weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
After the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring his very first touch, only to see his shot blocked.
Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, showing there is still scope for improvement in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect night for the traveling side.
